I know Im a Co-Mod here.
But Im not exactly sure who the REAL MOD is.

anyways,
I think we need to pick this place up a lil' bit.

Maybe we can start some short of THEME..or something. Something to keep everyone active.. and interested..

I dont think this community has to be specificly based on BRIAN HIMSELF. Its about everything that happens everyday to people for being DIFFERENT. For EVERY FALLEN HERO... that has been known to us and the UNKNOWN..
*Brian for being punk
*mattew for being gay

And many others that havent had their story told!!!
{whos next? Whats next?}

we have to keep this community alive, because well,
its more than a community, its the memory of an amazing person, and its also to knock some sense into people who think its okay to let things like this happen.

<3 thanks

i just read Brian Deneke's story and i almost fell to pieces, heh. its just awful. and ive had criticism and ive seen people get beat up for the way they look and dress, its horrific. it really has to stop. i speak out against it all the time but get shot down, im glad there is a community, and its just, i cant even put it into words, that someone had to die for it.

If some of you have had trouble posting, or couldn't post at all, I'm sorry. I haven't been able to get onto LJ much lately, but I've gone over the list of who can post unmoderate and everyone that is a member of this community should be able to post now. If you're still having problems posting, let me know and I'll see if I can fix it. Thanks guys.

i applaud the creator and the members of this community. i have much respect for you. i was 12, maybe 13, when this monstrosity happened. i remember seeing stories about Brian's death and feeling so sick to my stomach. every person should be aware of Brian's story and the vile hate crime that was committed. people deserve the right to be informed. don't be ignorant and shield your eyes. our country is not perfect. it makes me angry to know that someone could lose their life because they dress different or listen to a certain type of music. it makes me even angrier that that innocent life had to be Brian's.

Keep his story alive.

I think that whoever made this community is awesome. It's horrible what happened and I think more people should know about it...maybe it will teach them to be more open-minded and such big assholes. Well I just wanted to say thanks to whoever made this.

[ mood | aggravated ]

A few people have been complaining about this, and frankly, I am sick of what's happening.

I will say this once again, we DO NOT need your negative comments. If some assholes would take the time to actually read the info, they would find this out.

And I will say another thing. This post is directed specifically to toholdthegun. If any more of this goes on, I will start filtering the comments. I don't want to have to do that, but if this keeps happening, I will do it, and further more, anyone who leaves negative comments/posts will be banned from the community altogether.

Hidy ho..I stumbled upon this community and im glad i did. People need to Know Brian's story to make sure it NEVER happens again. I remember hearing about it when it first happened, but i was only like 10 at the time, and nowadays ive realized how much the incident means to me. That poor guy, he honestly did not deserve to die. He was such a wonderful person, and its a shame that some stupid conformist had to take his life away. We need more people like brian in the world- people who will fight for a little individuality

So I did a project on punks for my sociology class and I made sure I put a picture of Brian on there. I was telling people what happened to him. It was good to see their reactions and how disgusted they were with Dustin Camp and what he did. I hope we get to present our posters so I can tell the story to my whole class.

I'm new to this community. This was a great idea, thank you for starting it. When I first heard the story of Brian a long time ago I was enraged that something like this could happen! It's disgusting how people treat each other, and even more so that Dustin Camp has hardly been punished for taking another human's life (did he actually get out on parol a little while ago?).

Anyways - thanks again for starting this online community, I think it's really important that everyone tries to raise an awarenesss in their own communities about hate crimes of this sort... the ideas expressed here are a great way to do that.
